Ko Hikurangi te maunga

Ko Ngāti Porou me Te Whanau-ā-Apanui ōku iwi
Ko Rahui me Kaiwaka ōku marae
Ko Awhina Henry tōku ingoa

Kia ora my name is Awhina and I was raised in a small place on the East Coast of Aotearoa called Tikitiki. Currently live in the Horowhenua with my partner and my son.

I have been on this rongoā māori haerenga for the last 7 years. I work in the wairuatanga guided by my tipuna. Every pani, hinu and other rongoā made, has a piece of my mauri, a piece of myself in it, so I only make small batches at a time instead of bulk.

The harvesting and packaging of rongoā is done sustainably to protect Papatūānuku and give back to the whenua. Tikanga practices, protecting Papatūānuku and wairuatanga are my values throughout every part of the creation of my rongoā.

Ngā mihi for every like, follow, rongoā brought, person told, kind word spoken and everything in between.

Mauri ora e te iwi!
